Heard of This Guy?

It'll take you 12 minutes to watch this video which is about the same amount of time it takes to watch half of a sitcom. Except here, there are no commercials. You could try to watch for just two minutes and see if you want to continue. That's what I did. Then I got hooked.

I found it entertaining, informative, and very thought-provoking which I think was his goal.

I'm not saying everything he says I agree with, because I've never even considered 90% of his ideas. But I like that he threw them out there for me to figure out.
Tell me what you think...

I think that was TONS of information....and it would take multiple viewings for me to even form a legitimate opinion on most of it. But, as a general rule, I am NOT a proponent of public schooling. I think schools AND grown-up-businessland dismiss individuality and only want to produce "hamsters" (on the wheel, but going nowhere). I believe too many American parents (I'm trying not to generalize on a global basis here) have gotten so wrapped-up in paying bills & trying to maintain an unreasonable level of "stuff" that we have relinquied our responsibilties in our children's education to teachers who aren't reasonably compensated or educated, we've not put enough time or effort into laying a foundation of personal love and acceptance for our children, and we've neglected to teach our kids about Jesus and His gifts and commands. While we are spending so much time working that we've become lazy (physically and mentally), the enemy is working overtime and is gaining access to that which we are neglecting. We have to put God back in our center, or everything will continue to fall apart. Alas...but this has been the "issue" - and the result - for thousands of years. Which is why my Hope is in Him...and not in society, or the economy, or in science. Only when we become more like Him can we stop perpetuating the mess we're making. (I'm not even going to re-read and edit this....better to just write it off as the ramblings of a woman with only one cup of coffee under her belt this morning. *giggle*) : )

I was just talking to my neighbor about her frustrations with the public school system. Her child went from Montessori school where she was bored because they weren't moving fast enough to public school where they say she's ADD. BTW her only trouble subject is math everything else she does very well in.
My neighbor was also frustrated by the TAKS test. She said they are spending a week of school going over information from one question of the previous years test. They are teaching to pass a test not to educate the children. Seems silly to me.
I really enjoyed the video and it really made me start to think about some things
Thanks Jody
